El Consorcio trabaja con una estrategia de aprendizaje, innovación y generación de conocimiento paralela a la construcción de capital social, que se nutre de los proyectos de acompañamiento a las organizaciones.       Se busca desarrollar metodologías que permitan maximizar la sensibilidad permanente de las organizaciones para identificar los aspectos críticos que la afectan, entender cómo el contexto y los cambios que allí se producen influyen en su existencia y elaborar estrategias viables y efectivas para la consecución de sus objetivos estratégicos. En este aprendizaje nadie enseña, todos aprenden. Y para aprender no basta con la capacitación, asesoría, asistencia técnica, acompañamiento y auditorías, sino que se requiere autoaprendizaje (el que se desarrolla al planear, hacer seguimiento, evaluación y sistematización permanente y metódica) y coaprendizaje (el que se desarrolla en pasantías, eventos e intercambios con otros). El Consorcio ha buscado un estilo de gestión que favorezca estas tres modalidades de aprendizaje articuladas entre si.     Para adelantar el proceso de fortalecimiento de las organizaciones, el Consorcio ha desarrollado la metodología Rutas para el fortalecimiento organizacional, un itinerario para recuperar la capacidad que tienen las organizaciones de ser sujetos centrales de su propio crecimiento, al participar en el diseño de la ruta de mejoramiento, en su implementación y en su evaluación. La idea es que la ruta diseñada sea práctica y efectiva para alcanzar su propósito en un tiempo limitado, optimizando los recursos con que se cuenta y permaneciendo siempre abiertos a generar conocimientos, habilidades y destrezas a quienes transitan por ella. Esta es una metodología flexible que se adapta a la realidad de cada organización y al tiempo del que disponen quienes la van a utilizar. Con la ayuda de un facilitador, pone al servicio de las organizaciones herramientas para utilizar la información existente en el medio sobre aspectos diversos del fortalecimiento organizacional. Para acompañar el proceso, el Consorcio ha desarrollado guías de planeación, seguimiento, evaluación y sistematización de proyectos, así como sobre aspectos legales, tributarios, contables y laborales.		El Consorcio ha producido un conjunto de publicaciones agrupadas en la Colección Cúspide, sobre temas identificados como estratégicos para el mejoramiento de las organizaciones.
