El Consorcio para el Desarrollo Comunitario es una alianza estratégica de diez importantes fundaciones que trabaja en todo el país por la promoción y el fortalecimiento integral de organizaciones comunitarias, como una forma de aportar al desarrollo.

El interés de los aliados se ha enfocado en desarrollar estrategias, metodologías e instrumentos innovadores para el fortalecimiento de las organizaciones comunitarias, así como en cofinanciar y acompañar muchos de los proyectos de fortalecimiento.

  Un país con organizaciones comunitarias más efectivas, autónomas y democráticas, que se alían con otros actores para planear y transformar su entorno, tendrá mejores herramientas y posibilidades para dejar atrás la pobreza y conjurar la violencia.

En pos de esta meta, el Consorcio para el Desarrollo Comunitario produce, aplica y divulga en forma permanente conocimientos y metodologías innovadoras y eficaces, e incide positivamente en el diseño, ejecución y seguimiento de políticas públicas que favorezcan el desarrollo comunitario en Colombia.

El Consorcio representa una nueva forma de intervención para construir capital social en Colombia y trabaja para constituirse en el más importante espacio de pensamiento sobre desarrollo comunitario en Colombia; en el servicio más confiable, eficaz y eficiente para diseñar y gestionar proyectos de desarrollo y en un experto asesor para el fortalecimiento de organizaciones comunitarias.

Promover y fortalecer integralmente a las organizaciones comunitarias de desarrollo –OCD– para contribuir a la construcción de una sociedad equitativa, próspera, democrática y en armonía con el medio ambiente.

Visión a 2010:
La Corporación Consorcio es una alianza estratégica de organizaciones no gubernamentales ONG, consolidada, sostenible técnica, administrativa y financieramente, que moviliza voluntades y recursos locales, nacionales e internacionales.

Es reconocida en Colombia y otros países, siendo un referente en el tema del desarrollo comunitario, gracias a la calidad de sus servicios, al conocimiento generado y a su profundo compromiso con el fortalecimiento de las comunidades.

Las Organizaciones Comunitarias de Desarrollo -OCD- con las cuales ha interactuado el Consorcio son ahora mas efectivas, autónomas, democráticas, responsables y cooperan con otros actores para transformar su entorno; durante este proceso se ha contribuido a la construcción conjunta de un modelo de desarrollo local y comunitario que a su vez orienta, mejora y proyecta esa interacción.

El Consorcio produce, aplica y divulga permanentemente metodologías y conocimientos innovadores y pertinentes e incide positivamente en el diseño, ejecución y seguimiento a políticas públicas relacionadas con el desarrollo comunitario en Colombia.
